A 55 Chevy is hard to beat... when you find an original paint Kansas car you have found a good one!. This ole car was brought here to TN after being bought from the original owners estate. The body really solid only needing a few things that about all 55 Chevys need. The car had a small amount of rust over the headlights and in the rear tail pan. With both being common problems, repair panels are readily available. These areas were both repaired along with a spot on each quarter panel in front of the wheel. The body retains most all of its original paint and where it has needed repairing the paint was matched really well and is not easy to spot. The car has original floors and they are nice, the short floor braces were repaired using replacment parts. The car was an original 6 cylinder car but has been changed to a V8. Before this was done the entire front suspension and brakes were rebuilt. The firewall was repainted to match the original color and the engine bay was detailed very nice. The powerplant is a 355 cid backed by a Muncie 4 speed transmission. A 10 bolt chevy rear axle was used with 3:55 gearing. The engine is a Mid seventies 350 with a large sized camshaft, not sure of the make or grind. The engine sounds amazing with lots of power. Shorty coated headers were used along with 461/462 casting GM iron 300hp heads, Fluid dampener, Edelbrock intake and 750 Holley Carb. The Muncie 4 speed shifts out very good with a hurst bench seat shifter. When we purchased the car it was completely original on the inside but the interior was shredded. A completely new interior Delray interior was ordered from Ciadella custom interiors. Along with the new interior we refinished the dash and garnish moldings to give the interior a fresh look. While apart the car had a new windshield installed and the front windows and vent glasses. This makes the car pop! The Torque Thrust D wheels are new and really look great on the car. The car stands tall for that gasser look with new longer rear shackles and HD springs in the front along with ball joint spacers. I do have some original paperwork with the car where it was purchased new in Kansas. The car is an old school hot rod with a plush new interior the exterior has the look that you just cant reproduce... Worn Original!
